The Devonian Botanic Garden, established in 1959, includes an authentic Japanese
Garden, attractive floral gardens,
collections of native and alpine plants,
and ecological reserves, and is situated within an attractive rolling
landscape of pine trees and wetlands.
Connected gardens extend over 80
acres with an additional 110 acres of natural areas for visitors to
enjoy.

A boardwalk and established trails make it an excellent destination for
wheelchair accessible family outing. More than a hundred species of birds live in this
habitat of marshes, sandhills, meadows, and aspen and pine woods. They
include red-necked grebes, American bittern and ruffed grouse.
Fifty-eight species of rare plants have been recorded in Parkland
County. The species include a variety of vascular plants, mosses,
lichens, and liverworts.
